UPSC issued notification for selection of candidates for appointment as Special Class Railway Apprentices in Mechanical Department of Indian Railways through UPSC SCRA Entrance Exam 2012. The details & criteria of UPSC SCRA Exam is given below :
SCRA Entrance Exam Eligibility Criteria :
Educational Qualifications :
Candidates must have passed Intermediate or Senior Secondary (12 years) Examination under 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent with Mathematics and at least one of the subjects Physics and Chemistry as Subjects of the Examination in Ist or IInd Division.
Candidates appearing at the Intermediate/Senior Secondary (12 years) examination under 10+2 pattern of School Education/Ist year of the 3 years degree course or equivalent examination with the prescribed subjects also eligible subject to certain conditions. They will be required to submit proof of passing by the specified dates published in Commission’s Notice for Examination.
Age Limit : Candidates must have attained the age of 17 years & must not have attained the age of 21 years

Following cities in various states are SCRA Entrance test Centers :
Agartala, Ahmedabad, Aizawl, Allahabad, Bangalore, Bareilly, Bhopal, Chandigarh, Chennai, Cuttack, Dehradun, Delhi, Dharwar, Dispur, Gangtok, Hyderabad, Imphal, Itanagar, Jaipur, Jammu, Jorhat, Kochi, Kohima, Kolkata, Lucknow, Madurai, Mumbai, Nagpur, Panaji (Goa), Patna, Port Blair, Raipur, Ranchi, Sambalpur, Shillong, Shimla, Srinagar, Thiruvananthapuram, Tirupati, Udaipur, Vishakhapatnam
Application Fees : Rs.100/- to be deposited either in any branch of SBI by cash or by using net banking of SBI or by credit / debit card. No fees for SC/ST/PH/Female candidates.
