Situated in Dispur, Guwahati, Krishna Kanta Handique State Open University (KKHSOU) is one of the prime open universities in the state of Assam. The University was founded by Assam Legislative Assembly with the passing of Act (XXXVII of 2005) on September 7, 2005. It was established with the aim of encouraging Open University and distance education across the state. The University offers programmes in various disciplines at different degree levels.
