This year total of 2,83,477 candidates had applied for Eamcet, in those only 2,07,473 students qualified in Eamcet for the engineering. This year 3,21,000 B.Tech seats are on available in 671 colleges. 13,844 students who qualified in Eamcet engineering have failed in the Inter exams and become ineligible for B.Tech. So only 1,93,629 students available for 3,21,000 seats this year Eamcet engineering admissions. 15,000 seats are expected to be added by AICTE before the Eamcet web counselling begins in the 3rd week of July. That means even if all the Eamcet qualified students take engineering admissions the vacant seats are likely to be more than 1.5 lakh.
