According to the Northern Railway Recruitment 2012 notification, pay scale for these vacancies is Rs. 5200-20200+1800 Grade Pay and this structure belongs to the Pay Band-1 of the railway department. Apart from this pay structure, the selected candidates will also be entitled to various allowances and benefits as allowed by the government and the recruitment cell of the Northern Railways.
Age: The lower age and upper age as fixed by the recruitment cell and the government for the mentioned posts is 18 years and 33 years respectively. Upper age limit relaxations will be applicable in case of candidates who belong to the reserved categories. These age relaxations will be on the sole discretion of the railway recruitment cell and the government policies regarding age criteria in recruitments.
Qualification: The educational qualification which has been set for the available vacancies is the same for all posts. The candidate should have passed 10th class or should have ITI certification or should have a qualification which is equivalent to either of the two.
The initially shortlisted candidates will have to go through two main examinations – Written and Physical Efficiency examinations. The written examination will contain questions of objective type multiple choice nature, which would be framed from the syllabus and intellectual level of 10th class. The subjects which will be included in the written test would be related to the testing of General Knowledge, Awareness, Mathematics, Logical Reasoning, and other aptitude related subjects. Ease wrong answer would carry negative marking as per the policies of the recruitment cell. For the ease of the candidates from all over the country, the test will be conducted in 4 languages – Hindi, English, Punjabi and Urdu. The candidates need to compulsorily clear the Written Examination to advance to the Physical Efficiency Test (PET) round (Physically disabled candidates do not require to go through PET). The final selections will be made on the basis of the merit position obtained by the candidate in the written test and the PET.
An application fee of Rs. 40 needs to be paid by the candidates belonging to general and OBC category only by means of cash or NEFT. The candidates need to download the form and fill relevant details and attach the required documents. Then, it needs to be sent to Assistant Personnel Officer (RRC), Railway Recruitment Cell, Lajpat Nagar – I, New Delhi – 110 024 before 15th October 2012.
